Deltona, FL – (December 4, 2025) Halifax Health | UF Health - Medical Center of Deltona has donated nine pediatric emergency kits to Deltona Fire & Rescue, ensuring life-saving care for children during critical emergencies.
Unlike adults, children require specialized equipment because their bodies differ significantly in size and physiology. Each backpack-style kit is organized by age group and includes trauma supplies tailored for pediatric patients. Color-coded pouches allow EMS teams to respond quickly when every second counts.
“This is vitally important,” said Adam Clatterbuck, EMS Chief. “Children’s anatomy changes rapidly as they grow. These kits help us open airways, stabilize injuries, and save lives with the right tools.”
“When Deltona Fire & Rescue shared this need, we wanted to make sure no child would be at risk because equipment wasn’t available,” said Ben Eby, Vice President & Administrator of Halifax Health | UF Health - Medical Center of Deltona. “We’re proud to partner with them in making Deltona safer for all its residents.”
