Essential Water Safety for Vulnerable Children
Easterseals Northeast Central Florida Float for Life program equips children with essential water safety and drowning prevention skills. Designed to address the unique needs of children, including those with autism, this program focuses on teaching children how to recover to a back float and stay safe in the water. With drowning as a leading cause of death for children with autism, Float for Life provides families with a critical layer of protection to help prevent water-related tragedies.
Josh the Otter Water Safety Program
Halifax Health’s Josh the Otter initiative provides engaging and educational water safety programming for children and families, emphasizing drowning prevention and awareness.
Project Lifesaver: Saving Lives through Technology
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Community Partnership for Children, offers Project Lifesaver to families in need. This program equips children at risk of wandering with a wearable radio-frequency transmitter that allows trained search-and-rescue teams to locate them quickly. Project Lifesaver has been instrumental in reducing search times and saving lives.

$25: Covers the cost of ShareWear identification apparel for a family.
$50: Water safety materials and/or lessons through Easterseals Northeast Central Florida.

$350: Covers a Project Lifesaver radio-frequency tracking device for a child, including equipment and enrollment.
$500: Funds an AngelSense GPS device for a child at risk of wandering.
