Oceanside Country Club Donates $26,000 to Halifax Health - Foundation to Support Women and Children’s Health

Daytona Beach, FL – (July 18, 2025) Our Halifax Health - Foundation is proud to announce a generous $26,000 donation from Oceanside Country Club, raised through the 99th South Atlantic Women’s Amateur Championship (The SALLY) and the Taste of Oceanside and Friends event, to support women and children’s health in our community.

The South Atlantic Women's Amateur Championship, also known as the SALLY, dates back to 1926 and continues to field contestants from all over the world. The weeklong event held in January is filled with great golf and fun celebrating some of the best amateur women golfers in the world. Oceanside is proud to be home to the SALLY, one of the oldest surviving amateur golf classics in the country.

“The commitment of the Oceanside Country Club community to women’s health and the SALLY Championship is inspiring,” said Chuck Grant, Chairman of the SALLY. “As we approach the 100th SALLY next year, this gift demonstrates how the tournament’s legacy goes beyond the game and players and directly impacts lives in our area.”

Oceanside Country Club, founded in 1907, continues to be an integral part of the greater Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach community.

“For over a century, Oceanside Country Club has been a fixture in this community in one form or another,” said David Main, General Manager of Oceanside Country Club. “Hosting the Sally each year is an honor for our club and our members, and supporting Halifax Health through this event is one way we live out our role as community partners.”

John Guthrie, Executive Director of our Halifax Health - Foundation commented, “We are incredibly thankful for the longevity, generosity, and local spirit of Oceanside Country Club. Like Halifax Health, OCC has been part of this community for generations. Together, this program helps ensure that women and children receive the compassionate, advanced care they need close to home and we are looking forward to an extra special event as Oceanside Country Club and the SALLY celebrate 100 years.”
