Daytona Beach, FL – (June 27, 2025) Halifax Health and UF Health proudly celebrated the grand opening of the new UF Health Neurosciences Center at Halifax Health on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The event marked a major milestone in expanding access to advanced neurological care for residents of Volusia County and surrounding areas.
The ceremony featured remarks from Jeff Feasel, President and CEO of Halifax Health, Dr. Stephen Motew, President and CEO of UF Health, Dr. Mark Feezor, Associate CMO of UF Health Physicians at Halifax Health, and Dr. Patrick Han, Medical Director of UF Health Neurosciences Center at Halifax Health who is among the specialists delivering care at the new center.
“This partnership is a powerful example of what’s possible when two healthcare leaders come together with a shared mission: to expand access to exceptional care and help people heal close to home,” said Jeff Feasel, in his remarks at the ribbon cutting ceremony. “Together, we are not just growing services—we are transforming lives, strengthening our community, and redefining what it means to receive world-class care in East Central Florida.”
Dr. Han highlighted the center’s capabilities, which include comprehensive services in neurosurgery, supported by next-generation technology and a multidisciplinary team approach. The center also includes an ensuite pain medicine treatment area providing patients with direct access and convenience.
Representatives from the state and surrounding communities were in attendance for the celebration, including State Representative Chase Tramont, State Representative Bill Partington, Ormond Beach Mayor Jason Leslie, Ormond Beach Commissioner Travis Sargent, Ormond Beach Commissioner Kristin Deaton, and Port Orange Councilman Shawn Goepfert.
