Daytona Beach, FL – (July 25, 2024) Halifax Health marked a significant milestone today with the groundbreaking ceremony for its new emergency department in Daytona Beach North. The event, held at the new location on Williamson and Hand Ave., featured remarks from key leaders and highlighted the community’s support and the importance of the expansion for local healthcare.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome and breakfast for guests, followed by an invocation by Chaplain Hildreth. John Guthrie, the event’s emcee, introduced the speakers and set the stage for the day’s activities.
Jeff Feasel, President and CEO of Halifax Health, emphasized the organization's commitment to providing top-tier healthcare services. “As a community-owned and controlled healthcare system, Halifax Health is dedicated to delivering the highest level of care,” Feasel stated. “This new emergency department will continue that tradition by enhancing our capabilities in trauma, stroke, and pediatric care, among others. We are grateful for the continued support of our community, which has enabled us to expand our services and facilities.”
Alan Florez, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, echoed these sentiments, underscoring the breadth and accessibility of care Halifax Health provides. “Our mission is to meet the diverse needs of our community through various levels of care,” Florez said. “This facility will complement our extensive network of primary care, ExpressCare, and specialty services, ensuring that excellent medical care is always within reach for everyone.”
The groundbreaking ceremony concluded with photo opportunities and a networking session, marking the official start of construction for the new facility, which is scheduled to open in a year.
