Daytona Beach, FL – (April 30, 2024) Halifax Health has once again earned The Joint Commission’s certification as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, reinforcing its commitment to providing the highest level of stroke care to residents across East Central Florida.
This certification recognizes healthcare organizations that meet rigorous standards for performing mechanical thrombectomy—a complex, time-sensitive procedure used to treat ischemic strokes. Halifax Health continues to demonstrate excellence in delivering timely stroke care supported by a highly skilled team of doctors and caregivers.
“Being certified as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center reaffirms our dedication to saving lives and providing the best outcomes for patients who experience severe strokes,” said Dr. Jennifer Chan, Medical Director of Emergency Services at Halifax Health. “Our team is committed to delivering expert stroke treatment, ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of stroke care.”
The stroke program at Halifax Health includes specialized doctors, nurses, caregivers, and a Stroke Navigator, along with advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies. This achievement underscores the leadership at Halifax Health in neurological care and its continued focus on excellence, safety, and community well-being.
“We are proud to be recognized once again by The Joint Commission,” said Jeff Feasel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Halifax Health. “This certification is a testament to the exceptional teamwork, training, and commitment of our Team Members, who work tirelessly to deliver the most advanced stroke care in the region.”
