RN Residency Program

Halifax Health’s Registered Nurse Residency program is a paid residency program designed for Registered Nurses with less than one year of nursing experience. During this program, the graduate nurse will work directly with a unit preceptor for hands-on instruction combined with classroom-style lectures. This collaborative learning approach is designed to provide the knowledge base and skill set needed to successfully transition from the student role into your new role as a professional nurse.

As the area’s only:

  • Level II Trauma Center

  • Neonatal Intensive Care program 

  • Pediatric Emergency Department

  • OB Emergency Department

  • Child and Adolescent Behavioral Services

  • Comprehensive Neurosurgical Services

Accelerate your education by taking advantage of the incredible opportunities offered through our partnership with Daytona State College. If you want a rewarding career in healthcare, find out how to become a Halifax Health Team Member once you have completed your degree or certification. Financial assistance may be available for students enrolled in:

  1. Respiratory Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Certified Nursing Assistant, Radiological Technologist, Phlebotomist, Surgical Technologist, Licensed Practical Nurse, Health Information Tech or Medical Assistant programs

  2. BSN or AS Nursing degree programs

Daisy Award

Monthly Nursing award chosen from nominations submitted by patients, families, and Team Members. The Nursing Governance Professional Development Council chooses two recipients per month. The winners receive a certificate, DAISY award pin, reserved parking space, and a sculpture entitled “A Healer’s Touch.”

Team Member Recognition Banquet

Annual banquet honoring all Team Members who have received an award or achieved a milestone throughout the year. Among those recognized at the banquet are the Team Member of the Year candidates, Service Pin Recipients, Volunteers, Nurse of Excellence Winners, and Halifax 100 Club Members. It is our greatest celebration of the year and includes trophies, door prizes, entertainment, and more!
