Ramirez Named Administrator of Halifax Health|UF Health – Medical Center of Deltona

Rafael Ramirez has been appointed administrator of the Halifax Health|University of Florida Health – Medical Center of Deltona.  On schedule to open in December, the 90-bed medical center will be the city of Deltona’s first hospital.

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (June 7, 2019) – Rafael Ramirez has been appointed administrator of the Halifax Health|University of Florida Health – Medical Center of Deltona.  On schedule to open in December, the 90-bed medical center will be the city of Deltona’s first hospital.

After more than 30 years in the banking industry, Ramirez joined Halifax Health in 2014 to lead the community health system’s market development and community outreach efforts in the Deltona/West Volusia and Ormond Beach areas.  In his new role as administrator of the Halifax Health|UF Health – Medical Center of Deltona, Ramirez is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all activities related to the completion of the Deltona medical center, and upon its opening, all day-to-day operations.  He will also oversee physician relations for the hospital.

Ramirez is a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he received a bachelor’s degree in finance and a Master of Business Administration degree.

A longtime, active member of many community organizations, Ramirez has an impressive record of civic engagement and leadership, most recently having served as chairman of the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Ormond Beach.  Currently, he is the chairman-elect of the board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia/Flagler and chairman of the City of Ormond Beach Budget Advisory Board.  He has previously served as chairman of the board for the Daytona State Foundation and chairman of the Allocations Committee for the United Way of Volusia and Flagler Counties.  He has also been a member of the prestigious Checkered Flag Committee, Bethune-Cookman University Board of Trustees, and the boards of the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Council On Aging.

Additionally, Ramirez is a board member of the Deltona Business Alliance, Healthy Start Coalition of Volusia & Flagler, West Volusia Chamber of Commerce, Ormond Beach YMCA, Four Townes YMCA, Volusia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Halifax Area Civic League and the Deltona Economic Advisory Board.
