Daytona Beach, FL – (July 9, 2025) Halifax Health is proud to announce that all three of its hospitals have been recognized by the American Heart Association for their outstanding commitment to delivering the highest quality of stroke care.
For the fifth consecutive year, Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach has earned the Get With The Guidelines GoldPlus Quality Achievement Award, along with the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognitions. This milestone reflects the hospital’s continued dedication to improving outcomes for patients experiencing strokes in our community.
In addition to this achievement, Halifax Health – Medical Center of Port Orange also received the GoldPlus Quality Achievement Award, Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll, reinforcing its role as a vital provider of advanced stroke care in South Volusia, and Halifax Health | UF Health – Medical Center of Deltona earned its first GoldPlus Quality Achievement Award and was recognized on the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll, highlighting its impact in delivering high-quality stroke care to the West Volusia community.
“These awards are a reflection of the tireless efforts of our doctors, nurses, and clinical teams who work around the clock to ensure our patients receive the best possible care,” said Carissa Douglas, Stroke Program Manager at Halifax Health. “To be recognized across all Halifax Health campuses is a testament to our commitment to provide the highest quality of care for our community.”
The Get With The Guidelines program is the American Heart Association’s premier hospital-based quality improvement initiative. The GoldPlus designation is awarded to hospitals that consistently meet or exceed rigorous performance measures for stroke treatment over a sustained period.
These recognitions come at a time when the need for timely, coordinated stroke care is more critical than ever. Stroke remains a leading cause of death and disability in the United States, and individuals with diabetes are at significantly higher risk for cardiovascular disease. The proactive approach to care at Halifax Health ensures that patients receive the most effective treatments available.
