Stop the Bleed

On Thursday, May 21, Halifax Health will host a FREE one-hour training class for those interested in being trained on how to help in a bleeding emergency before professional medical help arrives.

Learn crucial techniques that will empower you to assist in an emergency and potentially save a life.

  1. How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound.

  2. How to pack a wound to control bleeding.

  3. How to correctly apply a tourniquet.

Statistics show the leading cause of preventable death in trauma is bleeding.  According to Stop the Bleed, 20 percent of people who have died from traumatic injuries could have survived with quick bleeding control.

Led by our Halifax Health – Emergency Services team, a one-hour FREE training class will take place at Halifax Health Medical Center, 303 N. Clyde Morris Blvd. in France Tower Conference Room A on Thursday, May 21 during the following times:

  • 9:00 – 10:00 am

  • 2:30 – 3:30 pm
