Your Care Team

Every patient is supported by a specialized team available 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

• Physicians and nurses work alongside your personal doctor to manage pain and keep you physically comfortable.

• Social workers and bereavement counselors provide emotional support for patients and families.

• Spiritual care counselors offer support in coordination with your own spiritual leader, regardless of faith or affiliation.

• Hospice aides assist with personal care.

• Volunteers help patients and families with daily needs.

Where Care Happens

Most hospice care takes place right at home, in familiar surroundings. When care outside the home is the better choice, we offer four dedicated Care Centers, and we also provide care in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals, wherever is most comfortable for the patient and family.

Common Questions About Hospice

Does hospice mean my loved one has to leave home?
No. Hospice is a philosophy of care, not a place. Most services take place in the home, so patients stay surrounded by family and familiar surroundings.

Does hospice mean only a few days left?
No. Hospice care is available to anyone with a life-limiting illness.

Can we afford hospice without private insurance?
Yes. Hospice services are fully covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans and HMOs. No one is ever refused care because of an inability to pay.
